Cambodia-Germany Reiterate Commitment to Boosting Bilateral Relations

PHNOM PENH: The new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia, Stefan Anton Messerer, met with the Senate President and Acting Head of State, Say Chhum, at the Senate Palace in Phnom Penh on Wednesday morning, 7 September.

Senate President Say Chhum warmly welcomed the new German Ambassador to Cambodia, and said that his mission will contribute to further strengthening and expanding bonds of solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Germany.

He further thanked the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for providing development assistance to Cambodia, particularly in the fields of education, health, mine clearance, the Khmer Rouge Tribunal, governance, and rural energy development.

Ambassador Messerer, in turn, also expressed his satisfaction with the good relationship and cooperation between the two countries, and pledged to do his best to further deepen relations in all fields.

Both sides reiterated a commitment to fostering bilateral relations and cooperation.
